NRFI Predictions Guide

What NRFI / YRFI means in MLB betting and how to use Wagerly's MLB tools when you're looking at NRFI bets.

NRFI is one of the fastest-growing markets in MLB betting. This page explains what NRFI is, how the YRFI side works, and how Wagerly's MLB tools fit in if you bet this market.

Heads up: Wagerly does not currently publish a dedicated NRFI/YRFI pick of the day. The AI publishes moneyline and totals predictions for every MLB game — you can use those, the AI Stats dashboard, or the AI assistant to inform your own NRFI calls.

What is NRFI in baseball betting?

NRFI stands for No Run First Inning. You're betting that neither team will score in the 1st inning of an MLB game. The opposite side, YRFI (Yes Run First Inning), wins if either team scores in the 1st.

Historically the majority of MLB games are NRFI, which is why you'll usually see NRFI priced as the favorite at most sportsbooks.

Does Wagerly publish NRFI picks?

No — not as a dedicated daily pick today. The AI model publishes moneyline (who wins) and totals (over/under combined runs) predictions for every MLB game. If we add a dedicated NRFI output, this page will be updated to reflect that.

How to use Wagerly's MLB tools for NRFI bets

  1. Open the MLB picks page to see the AI's moneyline and totals predictions for today's games. Games where the AI projects a low total are often games where NRFI is more attractive.
  2. Use the AI Stats dashboard for the AI's per-match view. It's a useful sanity check before sending an NRFI bet on a matchup the model dislikes overall.
  3. Ask the AI assistant about a specific matchup if you want a second opinion.

Frequently asked questions

What does NRFI mean?

No Run First Inning. You're betting that neither team scores in the 1st inning of an MLB game.

What's the difference between NRFI and 1st-5?

NRFI covers only the 1st inning. The 1st-5 line covers innings 1 through 5 — a different market with different inputs.

Does Wagerly's AI predict NRFI?

Not today. The AI publishes moneyline and totals picks for every MLB game. You can use those, AI Stats, and the AI assistant to inform NRFI bets, but Wagerly doesn't publish a dedicated NRFI pick of the day.
